CCR2004-1G-12S+2XS vs CCR1036-12G-4S

Hello

Currently we are using CCR1036-12G-4S for BGP , we have 2 uplink.

around 20-30 firewall filter rules is there in the current router.

one link is 2 Gbps and another link 5 Gbps.

want to upgrade to CCR2004-1G-12S+2XS.

kindly suggest us will the upgrade will give better performance?

BGP convergence will be faster on the 2004 (more single-core performance). For forwarding performance the 1036 wins.

So it depends on what’s important to you.

Thats a downgrade… going from a multi-core TILE with amazing throughput of 12gigs, which also easily handles your cumulative 7gigs of throughput.
So you have to be clear on the reason for upgrade??
Must be due to the lack of 2.5,5,10 or more gig ports available…

One move you can make is getting the 2114 model which has about 17 gigs of throughput, and four SPF+ ports.
Its more expensive than the 2004, but still way cheaper than the flagship 2216

Keep in mind the 2004 will max out at around 4.8gigs, so not capable of optimizing one of your WAN connections let alone both concurrently.
If you absolutely need more throughput on ports then get the 2116 and also purchase a CRS317 with 12 sfp+ ports, or the CRS326 if you need more…

My requirement is 10G port and performance as this router will be the edge.

The 2114 then is your best bet comes with four 10Gig ports

Hello,

Did you mean 2116? Kind regards
