I have setup a plain test in lab.
2004 latest longterm.
1x 10G wan itnerface
1x10g “customer” interface.
just 3 firewall rules in raw.
I build a plain pppoe server
the “customer” at the end of the fiber (1G fiber) is a CCR3011 (latest longterm)
pppoe client.
used standard default-encryption, he comes up with MPPE128 on it. I do a speedtest, just 20mbps comes from the 2004 to the 3011 (1 cpu of the 3011 is at 70%)
i used the standard default, with no encryption, and I get in the very same setup, 300mbps symmentric.
the cpu goes 77% on the 2004…
Is the 2004 a bad router or is something that I am doing wrong?
