CCR2116 BRAS Disk Storage Issues – Seeking Resolution

Dear Team,

We are experiencing critical storage-related issues on our MikroTik CCR2116 routers deployed as BRAS in our network. The problems include:

Disk Storage Full Errors – Despite no visible files in the /file directory.

Automatic Storage Corruption – System reports “bad sectors” in /system resource.

Unexpected Crashes – Routers become unresponsive due to storage exhaustion.

Request for Assistance
We urgently need guidance to:

Diagnose the root cause (e.g., filesystem corruption, logging issues, or hardware faults).

Recover affected routers without service disruption.

Implement preventive measures (e.g., scripts, firmware updates, or configuration tweaks).

Initial Observations
RouterOS Version:7.10.2

Symptoms:

disk usage shows 100% even with empty /file directory.

system resource displays “bad sectors” or “storage error.”

Frequent crashes due to storage-related processes.

My guess is that you somehow have trashed the flash-memory by used it for storing logs and other thing.

7.10.2 is really old.

I would try to do a netinstall with latest version.

I checked and found No log stored, I have seen 70% free storage fill up within 10second automatically. If log stored so i can found file in file foldar.

As I said, netinstall with latest version to begin with. I might be some filesystem junk thats hiding.
