CCR2216 - L3HW unusable at >10Gbit/s

Filed bug report but I want to know if someone else had this problem. Also I’m sick of these basic bugs which makes it feel that the product has not even been tested.

fasttrack hw no

No fw rules, all fastpath, bridge with 1x100G (shows l2 hw offloading) and a few vlans.

0.0.0.0/0 + connected routes (4) are offloaded.

Router stops forwarding traffic at around 15Gbit/s traffic. Logging in via ether1 I’m unable to ping anything connected. disable/enable on the ports/vlans does not help.
After reboot everything works again.

Leaving l3-hw-offloading off for now.

what cpu usage you obtain in that conditions??

On my CCR2116s, L3HW offload wasn’t working at all on 7.8. I had to revert them to 7.7.

20% with l3hw. 60% without.


Without l3hw its really only capable of 35G. And im at 20G now. Specs says 70 but its in+out so 35.
