Ceiling AP + "LED Ceiling Lights" in one product

Looking to replace our Ceiling Lights for LED’s and thought how great would that be
to have “cAP ax” acting as well as a “LED Ceiling Light”
supporting PWR-LINE and have maybe movement sensor etc.

Anyone got anything similar from other manufacturer?

And a disco ball too, perhaps ?

Seriously, why would you do that ?
All fine and well to have integrated stuff but if one thing breaks, you can throw away the complete device.

That would be the 2025 model = disco ball …

I rather have “one device” on the ceiling then LED light and next to it ceiling AP
that I have to get the cable to it and drill another hole etc.

The el. cables are already there and if PWR-LINE implemented, could be powered
from that and LED part controlled by number of means …App, sensor, (Light switch
would turn the AP off completely) ..

It can be modular and does not have to be a product that when it breaks, you throw it away,
but like on PC replace faulty part or even better, UPGRADE the part
(I Know it’s not fashionable today to be able to replace/upgrade product,
but it works with PC and other products)

MikroTIk can make a name for themself’s and orders for the product would be in 1xxx’s if constructed right …
at least in the enterprise sector …

Shame that the Li-Fi did not take off en mass …

Something like that (no idea if good, bad or even if working at all) JFYI:

https://xy-connect.com/en/

from what I understand it is simply a small AP inside a bulb working through powerline.

Looks interesting, but only supports
https://xy-connect.com/en/technology/
Power line: 500 Mbps HomePlug AV
WiFi: 2.4Ghz 2R2T (300Mbps)

But, they got the right idea

I was looking something to mount on the ceiling (in a low ceiling rooms) …low profile…

You can use a small (round) AP and put around it a T9 led (circular tube) but you would still need an ethernet cable to it or adapt any powerline AP, there are a few that are really small,. like 70x70 mm (though - if they work - they probably max out at 600).

A tiny 1200 one seemingly exists (as well no idea if good, bad or working at all):

I see, there are plenty of unknowns when it comes to PowerLine
https://www.techadvisor.com/article/726162/what-is-powerline.html
so speed could not be guaranteed and there is a chance of interference
but maybe this standard improves it
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G.hn

Only problem with PowerLine devices is, that the “power sockets” are never in the ceiling height
and almost always in the area where other electronic devices producing el. smog - power by electricity are stored/kept …

Ceiling mounted AP+LED (2in1) would be awesome …Running RouterOS even better

I think you’re looking for a Ubiquiti device. You should pitch that idea to them if they aren’t already working on it. Unifi HOME. Just remember you saw it here first.
