CF Issue on RB1000

Hi all!
I’m having a hard time with 2 Kingston CF/2GB CF cards.

When plugged to the CF Slots of any of my 2 RB1000, the routerboards don’t even start, there’s no “bip” audible, just the blue light lit, and I get no response via winbox nor serial connection.

Unplugged the CF, connected the power jack, and the RB’s start with no problem.

I’ve read many posts on RB’s not recognizing the CF, but these 2 RB1000 of mine don’t start at all.

Is it a CF problem, or the RB are nor working well??

A couple of pics of the CF cards:

I’ve set the RB’s to boot from “nand-only”, and I don’t know what else I could be doing wrong.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance,

Magne.

Got an e-mail from the reseller, and they told me to try CF with lower speed than 133X.

The reason I bought these was because they ARE lower than 133X.

And the problem is not of “usage” or “recognition” but a BOOTING issue.

Any helping hand, please?

Having the exact same problem on my new RB1000. Using a 2GB 80x card. No beep, no post via console cable. Just the blue light. I have a call in with my distributor who is looking into it. Has anyone gotten any CF card to work in the RB1000? Perhaps we need a list of supported cards. I’d be happy to buy only a specific model that I can count on to work. I couldn’t even find a full user guide on routerboard.com.

try another type of CF card. there is no specific list of supported cards, but we are trying to make one here: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Supported_Hardware#Memory_cards
