Good day house, pls i have an old cpu running the router os and i got a new cpu which i intend to use. How do i do the swap without losing the settings on the hdd, secondly, will the harddisk work on the new cpu? Thank u soo much.

Reinstall is possible using the official tools - CD install and Netinstall.
Do not format the disk yourself.
Is it possible to move a licence from an old hdd to a new hdd in the situation of upgrade.
A new disk needs a new license.
If RouterOS caused the problem that needs you to move to a new disk, you can email Mikrotik Support and ask for a discounted replacement license.
