Couldn’t find any info but is there a chance that I could hook up some external antenna(not the ones that comes in kit, but some that I could mount on pole)? And what specs they should be?
Also, can I keep Chateau router in attic? Temperature wise it should be ok, don’t have -40 or +60 outside, but i’m kinda worried about humidity - what are those limits?
Asking this as I received router with courier from my 5G provider, but technician is not coming soon. My walk around home for best 5G signal ended in master bathroom and I can’t leave router there. Currently I have LTE router on pole on the roof and for me would be easy to put antenna up and drop cables to the attic where 5G modem could reside.
I don’t have the device so I’m guessing that LTE antennae connectors are SMA type. So get yourself a pair of good antennae with good directivity and make sure they have good gain in frequency range used by your mobile network operator in your area (card supports frequencies between 700MHz and 4.7GHz, I’m certain you won’t find single antenna with decent gain in whole range and quite lijely your MNO doesn’t use whole range). Most suitable antennae come with cable attached and some standard connector (FMA is popular). Try to get antenna with antenna cable length “just right” (longer cable attenuates signal more) and connector adapter (possibly a “pig-tail” type to reduce stress cables would put on Chateau connectors).
