anyone using these beasts? They’re Cisco’s, I’d like to see their -72dBm/54Mbps sensitivity in real world, but they are just too expensive for us to buy. Anyone with comparation of link behaviour before and after upgrade to Cisco?

Cisco a/b/g cards are based on their own Radiata chipset (company that they purchased a while ago). Nothing to do with Atheros.
As always, their chipset may be better for end-user applications, as they are not likely to release API etc.

I used it.
AIR-352 (350 series) and 340 series
it not so good. ( I used it for close range 1-3 km)
“Orinoco gold” better what cisco for middle range (2-7km) IMHO.

they are probably not using radiata, because atheros lists them on their partner page 
btw, mikrotik 2.8.9 added some world mode support for aironet cards, but it is not specified which ones.
