Cisco SFP Copper Module - link-up, but no connection

Hi,

I think i have read all SFP topics on this website the last week, but maybe i missed something.

i’m trying to connect a Cisco SFP Module to a hap ac. The module was tested before and works ok.
i know this module is not on the list of supported modules, but i want to give it a try as it is not needed anywhere else.

i got link-up as soon as i disabled auto negitiation. But the other end (a laptop for testing) says no cable connected.
What i can see is that there are almost no Rx packets on this link. It’s about 1 Packet in 1min. Tx looks normal.
In another Thread the module worked on a freshly resetted router. It didn’t help me.

Can you please help me further troubleshooting it or guiding me in the right direction?
The logs don’t give me much infos.

Thanks in advance!

Can you try to set the speed on your laptops side manually to 1000Mbit-full? We have seen links where one side reported as up (but only with fibre) and the other side does not see anything. That heavily depends on the configuration of both sides speeds and flow control if you do not use auto negotiation. In the best case you should set all options to the same on both sides.

Since we do not use these modules there is no guarantee the things i mentioned are correct and fit to your problem, but you could give it a try

Thanks for the suggestion!

Unfortunately it didn’t work.
