I have a RB911G configured as an access point using Nv2. There is a SXT connected to it. The SXT show up in wireless registration, appears connected however I am unable to connect to the client.
Using arp-ping, I can ping the the ip address of the client, but ping does not work. Neither from the client to AP, or AP to client. Both devices are in bridged mode with ip address on same subnet. The client does not appear to lost connectivity at all. Uptime on the the client list is ever increasing, nothing in the logs related to disconnects, etc.
Suggestions on what to look for next would be helpful.
After swapping out client devices and achieving the same result, I switched from Nv2 to using 802.11, and the link is now working. I have another similar setup using Nv2 working fine, so not sure what was going on.
After further testing, I believe I have found the cause of my problems. I’m hoping that someone here can either confirm this, or show me where I’m wrong.
I am in the process of switching to Nv2 on several of the access points that are only servicing Mikrotik devices. This is one of them. However, I’ve noticed that when setting the SXT to bridge mode, it uses station-pseudobridge mode, and this doesn’t work with Nv2 per the wiki.
I have not verified with the same client/ap yet, but was able to recreate the issue in our lab, and when changing from station-pseudobridge to station-bridge was able to make the connection work.
