Client overload possible? what is a radio's limit?

We are installing a couple of small access points on a building. They are all 133s. They all have 8dbi omnis. we have numerous clients at a range of about 8m - 35m. all at the same height of the access point. How many clients will each radio be able to handle at once if they all use laptop wifi/wrt54g/usb wifi. (Ignoring the cpu and ram limitations of the 133.)

Will i be able to support more than 20 people per access point? ( Each client just needs a consistent 256kbps )

Without problem, No problem. I Think it will handle up to 30 but then congestion is possible.. -Jordan

If you are running firewall rules, queues, hotspot or full 54, I wouldn’t expect more than 20, especially simultaneous at 256. I know you said to ignore the the limitations of the 133, but then why bring them into the equation? We have tried this scenario many times with RB112s (same proc and mem) with poor results. Upgrading to 532 was the answer, and we are currently seeing just over 50 cleints per card with few seldom issues.
