Clonetik

Has anyone on the forum ever had any luck with this software, or a licence.

Or is the software developer just ripping people off $5.

Maybe Mikrotik should take his site down, for using there name.

Cheers

That site claims it just moves configuration. You can do the same with “/export compact file=name”

[…] cloneTik is a new Mikrotik serial configuration copy tool […]

Sunds like is one MikroTik official tools. Must be writed:

[…] cloneTik is a new serial configuration copy tool FOR MikroTik devices […]

I got the impression that with export , you get the config and when importing to another device then the MAC’s need to be reset to the actual device MAC’s.
With Clonetik I am lead to believe that it can remove and edit some of the parts of the copied data , before sending it to another device , or even to a different model.

I am new to Mikrotik, so any tools to make my life easier and configuration fast are a great help.

Cheers

You are mixing up Backup with Export. What you described is the Backup file. Export does exactly what this Clonething promises. Export file can be edited, and doesn’t care about MAC addresses.

Why can’t we have an Export option in Winbox, since export is more versatile than backup? I imagine it with a dialog which lets you tick boxes on a hierarchical tree of all routeros config sections, to select which ones you want exported.

click on “new terminal” in winbox and type “export”
