I’m just looking for the proper procedure on how to essentially clone configuration from one device to the same model device and OS. I will be deploying to two sites both with an onsite backup device. Currently using 7.1.3 because I have that on other routers and wanted to keep a stable base across all devices. I’ve read the backing up the config and restoring on the other device isn’t the proper procedure, and using the export command is, but I’ve had issues with the export command in the past, having some default configs in it, and having to edit the file manually. I recently restored from backup and functionality seemed to be working, except I could no longer access the device via 443. I’m suspecting it’s an SSL issue, but I copied over any certs from the original device.
I do have a list of commands that I use to make the original router, am I just best inputting those back in and copying the certs/keys and importing them?
