I am not able to access my Mikrotik router via cloud IP, There is a warning, I am sure many of you had it,
DDNS server received request from IP xxxxxxxxx but your local IP was yyyyyyyyy; DDNS service might not work"
xxxxxxxx = Public IP
yyyyyyyy = PPPoE IP
My ISP is using PPPoE service and I am connected by PPPoE client in Mikrotik router itself directly, my WAN is a NanoStation CPE and it’s in a bridge mode, any suggestions will be appreciated.
There is no magic with MikroTik’s DDNS, it simply sets the hostname to point to whatever was the public IP your router uses to access internet. The best case is when the IP is owned by your router. If your router does not have public IP, it can still be useful if the router with public IP forwards some ports to your router. But if neither of that it true, MikroTik’s DDNS can’t help you.
Then it should be simple. For the DDNS part, is xxxxxxxx your public address from which you have forwarded ports and does hostname get correctly updated to point to it? If so, there’s nothing to be done there and your trouble is with port forwarding. So tell us something about it. How exactly are you trying to access your router, if you have the right ports forwarded, what kind of troubleshooting you’ve done do far, etc…
Do you have any kind of arrangement with your ISP about forwarding some ports from 185.54.xxx.xx to your 192.168.13x.xxx? That’s the important part, because no matter what you do on your router, it won’t do you any good just by itself.
Thanks for the reply, actually I don’t have any arrangement with them, but it shouldn’t be like that and I think they have blocked all ports except the one they are using for pptp and ssh, any way I know the guy from the ISP company he is kind a friend of mine.
Unless they do something, it’s all correct. Your 192.168.13x.xxx is private address, nothing can reach it from internet by default. And “your” public 185.54.xxx.xx (which you don’t actually have, but it’s somewhere else) also does not forward anything anywhere else by default. Your ISP must set it up this way. So ask your friend about it and it should lead to happy end.
