cm-9 shielding

hello all

is there a need to shield the cm-9 or any radio for that matter in the box that they are housed in.?

if so what is the best shielding material to use. to isolate the radios from each other..

reason i ask is I am doing testing on two radios (cm-9) and i know that is is also true for the old silver cards from lucent or any radio for that matter.

that if two cards are seated next to each other that they in general omit RF and can cause some loss of signal . even if they are on different Freq.

the bleed over occurs . so how can you put 4 or more radios in one enclosure without interference ?/

what is the best recommendation or input

Anyone have a reply on this topic? I have the same questions…

I have wondered the same thing, it seems the traces from the radio to the connector are bare, I think the answer lies in resonant frequencies, so some frequencies will bleed more than others, likewise other radio designs might bleed more or less as well. I would try various frequencies to reduce the bleed. Also try other radios. I know cm9 is the workhorse out there but I only use R52 now and never any bleed.
