Code: Select all does not select text in code block

I wanted to copy the text from a code block, but when I click Select all, it just sends me to the top of the thread.

I have tried with both Chrome Version 99.0.4844.74 (Official Build) (64-bit) and Firefox 98.0.1 (64-bit), both running on Windows 10 Pro 20H2 OS build 19042.1526

I am running uBlock Origin extension, but I have added forums.miktotik.com as a trusted site with no change in behavior.

Are my expections incorrect, or does this feature work for anyone?
