Hello,

I want to collect Data from each user.(where the user go)
I have a Linux machine.
I search in the Forum, but i’m found nothing.

Can everybody help me!!

I know, if you an ISP in Germany, you must log Data.
It’s wrong??
I have many clients that use P2P.
Thay walk with my IP address.

That’s probably not the right place for this discussion, and I’m no lawyer. But generally logging all data comms (what each user did) is quite surely not OK with German (and probably most other modern) legislation.

There are things you have to provide if authorities ask you to, but that’s another topic.

To the technical part of your question: This can be a bigger project than you want :wink: It depends on WHAT information (exactly) you to log for how long etc. All HTTP requests your users make? Every transmitted e-mail? Peer-to-peer activities? …

Thats a damn good point.

If using NAT and a user gets sued by the RIAA or something it’s gonna come back to you unless you can provide logs to proove otherwise. As far as I know the court will order to the ISP responsable for the IP used which would be the wireless opperator in this case. The wireless opperator would need to use the logged information as defence that a user on the network created that traffic. If it’s illegal to log data then what happens. I know for a fact that UK isp’s have been ordered to hand over this kind of data.

i suggest to use pppoe and save the logs

With Traffic counter I can log all traffic from MT.
But I need a Windows machine.
I have a Linux machine.
Existed a programm for Linux, too??
