After playing around with Microtik CRS and RB components I’m now trying to build my home network the right way according to the design below:
The network consist of the following components:
One Cloud Router Switch: CRS125-24G-1S-2HND-IN
Two Routerboards: RB951UI-2HND
Now for some basic essential decissions I have a couple of questions for which I can not find an answer.
- How do I configure switching utilizing the highest bandwidth? L3 routing is not needed!
- How do I configure VLAN trunking between the RouterSwitch and the RouterBoard? (I don’t understand how to use the ‘primary port’ concept in this case.)
- How do I prevent IPTV (BROADCAST) flooding the network and in particular the trunks
- I have tried CAPSMan but have some performance/reliability issues which I suspect have something to do with the switching/bridging configuration (and the associated performance implications) Any thoughts on that?
