Combining 2 ADSL routers as one virtual connection?

Hi there

I’m running a MikroTik router in my office, connected to a 4mbit ADSL modem. I’m planning on adding another 4mbit ADSL line and want to create some kind of a virtual 8mbit connection from the MikroTik router to the 2 ADSL modems?

Is this possible?

Would appreciate any advice.

Thx

if you use PPPoE and your provider supports MLPPP, then you should be able to get 8 mbps link.

if no (and I think the answer is ‘no’ :frowning: ), then you can only load-balance between two channels. the simpliest way to do that - direct one group of users via channel 1, and another group via channel 2

I’ve heard about bonding. Is is not possible to use bonding to create a virtual 8mbit interface?

You will be able to have 8M in whole, but it will never overcome the 4 for file. This it is one of limitation that has tcp/ip

it’s possible. if you have access to ISP side of the link to setup MT ROS box on both sides

I have access to the ISP…
