After the last upgrade to v6.47.6 I did a configuration reset from Winbox.
Now I am not able to reach the box anymore.
An arp scan done with a Linux machine and netdiscover doesn’t give me any IP.
Winbox can connect with the MAC address found in its discovery, but it get disconnected within a few seconds.
Error while running customized default configuration script : expected end of command (line 1337 column 53).
Unfortunately the one and only console cable I have is an original CISCO cable and it doesn’t seem to work with any serial setup.
I have tried another reset from the touch screen, but I still get the same error.
TRied netinstall, but the MAC address of the device doesn’t show up.
Is there any other option to do a really complete reset or force some clean configuration into it?
When connecting to CRS (or any ROS device) after factory reset, device expects management connection through first copper interface (ether1). After initial setup is done, management connection is usually possible on all other interfaces except for ether1.
Not sure how this correlates with what you see - disconnect within few seconds (unless if connection actually did not succeed and it times out after a few seconds … which would agree with what I wrote about interfaces expected to be used).
Thanks a lot for the hint: I should have remembered that thing!
Anyway …
Winbox can actually connect via MAC but gets disconnected after about 3 or 4 seconds.
It took 3 connections for me to be able to select the Quick set menu item and then the bridge mode. I am now back up and running.
Now, I think something is not OK in general.
I was on port #2 (not #1) and the amount of time before being disconnected was enough to first select the Quick Set, then the bridge mode and apply.
This is definitely not " as expected" or “as designed”, isn’t it?
