Is there any alternate way to implement compression over OpenVPN? Im primarily sending syslog over the connections with some rsync data. I could probably cut my bandwidth usage in 1/2 with some sort of compression.
use rsyncable gzip before the transfer?
By the time I get the rest of these routers in, ill be pushing ~1.5mbit in syslog traffic. With compression, thatd be knocked down to ~500-600kbit. Im already gzipping the rsync traffic.
If traffic is between MT routers you could configure M3P. M3P, in addition to packet agregation, supports compression…
I was looking at that, but I cant assign a dynamic interface.
