Hi All,
i need to use some hap Lite Ac to get a 2.4Ghz network which provide whole area with good quality. I use the 5Ghz Radios only if i could not wire an Device (backbone), not as 5Ghz AP at all.
What would best practice to connect a second not wired device to first not wired device ?
(Wired Device ← 5Ghz > not Wired ← 5Ghz → not Wired …)
Do not mix network structure on l2 with modulation scheme of the radios. It depends on your network structure whether to use bridged or routed approach. If no structure yet, bridging mode will be easier for you to manage.
Sorry but i not get the point. What do you mean with mix network structure ? To Manage the 2.4Ghz network i use CAPsMAN, the 5GHz is just to connect the not wired devices. Actual i have one not wired device which is connected via P2P (Station Bridge, NV2) to the wired (AP Bridge, NV2) .. but i need another not wired device connected to the first not wired device. But as the first not wired device is a Station Bridge i guess i could not connect to it from another not wired device.. now for me is the question how this is configured for best practices. In a first look i would use WDS static mesh.. but may be there is another better solution ? For e.g. configure the not wired device in middle as AP bridge + connect the other not wired and the wired as station to it ?
Thanks in advance
Marcus
PS : With Device i mean only the hap lite AC device, not the clients.
PS2 : I guess normaly if the WIFI is also used as AP, than WDS would be the only solution, but in my case i do not need that the clients also connected to the 5GHz WIFI, so may be there is another better solution as WDS ?
I would try to keep out of using wds. The idea to have Ap bridge in the center with station bridge devices around is the right one. Hope the future Ap device has at least level 4 license.
