Configure a repeater

Hi there,

I’m new at Mikrotik, and I need your help.
I have a RB951G-2HnD router, with 6.38.

I live in a house with 2 floors, on the 1st floor I have an ADSL wireless modem that doesn’t have enough power to get to the 2nd floor. So, my idea was to put the Mikrotik on the 2nd floor, so that I could connect to my wireless network and repeat it. But, I need it to share the network over the LAN ports too, so that I can connect a desktop pc I have on the 2nd floor too.

The DHCP server is on the ADSL modem.

Could you please give me an hand?

There is a wizard to setup a repeater in the webinterface.

Yes. But of course you can always tweak that after running the wizard.
The wizard simply creates an access point, a station, puts them in a bridge, and the ether2 is also in that bridge
if I remember correctly. If not, put it in.

Thanks pe1chl,

I’ve followed the CPE wizard, then created a virtual AP and added him to the bridge.
Then I was having problems getting IP on the vAP clients, and I configured a DHCP relay, and it’s working :slight_smile:
