I have an issue with my CAP AC configuration at home, which I bought to replace older AP.
ISP (192.168.50/24) <--> CAP AC (192.168.88/24) <--> mobile (assigned e.g. 192.168.88.12)
desired state
ISP (192.168.50/24) <--> CAP AC (transparent or assigned eg. 192.168.50.23) <--> mobile (assigned e.g. 192.168.50.12)
My main ISP router creates network 192.168.50.xx
By default CAP AC creates DHCP Server with 192.168.88.xx network.
I would like to all CAP AC clients would also have IP assigned from my main router.
I have tried to remove DHCP server, but then when I joined CAP AC wifi, ip has not been assigned.
How are you connecting the CAP AC to your ISP router? If it’s by Ethernet, then that Ethernet and the wireless LANs need to be in the same bridge. Once you’ve done that your wireless connected devices will be able to communicate directly with the ISP router.
You would probably also want to assign the CAP an address in the 192.168.23.0 subnet so it can be reached for management.
If this doesn’t make sense, why don’t you post up your CAP configuration?
Seems you are trying to configure your accesspoint as a router.
According to the manual all you have to do is press the reset button for 5 seconds and it should have default accesspoint configuration. After this, you can configure the wireless part as required.
Hello all erlinden I do have currently default setting and that is not what I desire regarding setup.
I mislead you a bit with that diagram, allow me to fix it.

I have checked configuration and I finally found that ether1 is NOT in bridge but ether2. I have disabled dhcp-server and added ether1 and now it works.

That is last thing which I need for my required configuration.
Sorry I should have remebered that. In RoS, the default working port is ether2 which makes no sense on the CAPAC as most connections will be on ether1 back to the router seeing as its the one powered by POE. However there is some logic to it in that one can easily gain access to and config the AP knowing that it has a .88 subnet setup (just change PC IP address).
Correct have to change bridge to include eth1,
Since i dont use the bridge for dhcp or addresses (just bridging) I simplyu use IP Address function and set in the proper static IP I want to assign from my home vlan (or management vlan for example) and ensure i use an appropriate subnet address and correct vlan interface.
Also I ensure that the vlan interface is identified as LAN member.
