I have a router 1000 which it configured as hotspot use authenticating using user, name, and mac authentication. i use senao 600 radio to pick signal at another point and retransmit with Linksys AP which works but once one user logs in with user mane and passwork other subscriber is not asked for log in but instead it automatically logs in other users one the linksys Ap with the first log in detail and they gain access to to brouse.
The problem is mac. As soon as traffic pass through router it will be given the mac of the router. If linksys is last router before routerboard 1000 the packet will have the mac of linksys. First user will log in with mack address, after that, because mac is authenticated, every body ells will be able to brows. Only way is to make use of user name and password. No mack authentication. There is no way to get amount this that i know of, except with bridging, but this is not good. Rather stay with routing.
What if i use a mikrotik as repeater on the other end picking signal with 5.8Ghz B and then reapeting on hotspot mode on 2.4Ghz B from the base Router 1000 with Mikrotik AP 2.4Ghz. can it authenticate on 2.4Ghz on reapeter B with user name and mac authenticated from the Router 1000
Better try and make some sort of sketch on your system, what you want to do. What i can say. If you want to use mac authentication. The access point for client has to be the hotspot, unless you use bridging. As soon as you route through a router, it wont work.
