I want to extend my network with the router (2) ‘Mikrotik wAP ac’, this router-back-router (1) ‘Nokia XS-2426G-A’ (ISP). I am using an example from a website (https://computertotaal.nl/artikelen/internet-thuis/extra-router-inbouwen-breid-je-netwerk-uit/) with the following configuration:
- IP address router (1) 192.168.1.254
- IP address router (2) 192.168.1.253
- Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
- DHCP on on router (1) and disabled on router (2)
- Same names and passwords SIDD for both routers
When I want to connect via wifi, I get no IP address handed out by Mikrotik.
In alternative setting:
- IP address router (1) 192.168.1.254
- IP address router (2) 192.168.2.253
- Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
- DHCP on both routers
- different names and passwords SIDD for the routers
I can connect to the Mikrotik, but it has no internet connection.
What are the settings needed to configure the Mikrotik as an additional router?
I am not an expert, just a simple user.
