I am currently facing a challenge with renewing the license for my MikroTik Cloud Hosted Router (CHR) version 7.15.3 installed on an ESXi device, which has the IP address of 192.168.1.1. Due to firewall restrictions in my location (China), I’m unable to directly connect to MikroTik’s registration servers via PPPOE to renew the license. CHR contacts only licence.mikrotik.com to check/verify the license.
As a workaround, I have installed OpenWRT on a separate device with the IP address of 192.168.1.2, intending to use it as a gateway for the CHR device.
I am seeking advice on the correct configuration for my OpenWRT device to function as a gateway so that the CHR device can reach MikroTik’s registration servers. I’ve tried some configurations, but still can’t seem to get it right.
