I purchased the SXT LTE (RBSXTR&R11e-LTE) along with the hap ac^2. To be quite honest I have no clue what I am supposed to do next. I have winbox installed. I put the sim card inside the SXT LTE and I connected it to my pc but I have no idea how to configure it to actually get internet access! If anyone could tell my how to configure it or link me a guide that would be great
Hello,
In the Mikrotik Wiki you have a good documentation you can use QuickSet to make it easier. https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Quickset
Try to get started and tell us if you have any questions.
You should be able to power the SXT LTE up with an ethernet cable plugged into ether1 connected to the enclosed adapter where you insert the power supply, then connect it to your PC.
You don’t really need the Hap ac², though it is a great router, unless you want to do something fancy, since the SXT LTE is also a built-in router, antenna, and LTE mobile modem all in one.
Notice that the SXT LTE has two SIM slots, the upper one is called “A” slot, the lower/down one “B” slot.
If you have removed the PIN from your SIM before putting it into the SXT, you should be able to have connectivity, provided your PC is set to obtain an IP address automatically.
If not, go into the router with http://192.168.88.1 and click on System > Routerboard > SIM and check if the correct SIM slot is selected, since there are two but you only put in one card. If your SIM needs a password, you can enter it by clicking on Interface then double click on the lte1 row in then Interface tab, then make sure you are in the General tab, where you can enter a PIN code. Don’t worry about APN settings, since in several countries in Asia as well as in Europe with about 5+ different providers I never needed a custom APN setting, the default APN profile worked just fine.
After all that is done, you should have connectivity. In the lte1 window, you can go to the different tabs to check the status and also in Traffic > TX/RX bytes the data consumptions while connected.
I know this post has some age to it so I apologize for this.
So I have the same unit and I was able to barely get it up and running. I am about a mile away from the cell tower and my upload speeds are about 10Mbps while download speeds are about 170kbps. I’ve swapped the SIM from my tablet to the RBSXTR&R11e-LTE a few times just to check and the tablet is getting like 40Mbps downstream using the built in omni antenna. Is the poor downlink speeds due to pointing the RBSXTR&R11e-LTE in the wrong direction (totally possible) or is there something else that needs to be configured?
Thanks.
