Before I install a 5.8 GHz - 6 km link, I tried to benchmark the align process.
I though the better the positioin is, the louder the routerboard 220 would beep. Actually when I do the align monitor process I got nothing !.
Using the winbox - Interface/wireless/status/ - I can see the freq band switching to 2.4Ghz-B when starting the align monitor process!.
Further more, I tried to put a 10 value on the test-audio : no sound!
Did I missed something ? Is there released step by step wireless link positioning procedure ?
A PC speaker can not get louder or more quiet signal at all - there is no regualtion for this. The allignment actually works like a Geiger counter - the better signal is the more frequently it ticks (beeps). And it seams like there is a manual here:
