I’ve got a problem with a new RB I set up, using x.x.x.x/30 IPs for uplinks, x.x.x.x/24 for APs. The strange thing is that it (uplink) connects (R in interfaces), but I cannot ping the other side (and therefore routes don’t get updated-using RIP). If I drive there, climb the tower & restart the remote RB, it pings fine again for a few hours, then it goes down again. If I disable ‘this side’ uplink Interface & re-enable, still doesn’t work, must restart or dis/enable remote side’s uplink interface.
- Anyone have an idea what the problem could be?
- When should I use RIP, when BGP, OSPF, what’s the advantages of BGP & OSPF? I have everything neatly subnetted, no bridge interfaces nor WDS, also no VRRP. Just ‘plain’ connections, no firewall.
Thanks
