Hi,
I am new to Mikrotik and trying to set up my Hex S which hosts a Proscend 180-T VDSL2 modem in its sfp1 port so that I can replace the private labelled router of my ISP. With your help, I would like to set up a VLAN with ID 7 (or 11 - the information to which ID Telefonica uses does not read very precise) and a PPPoE connection so the router connects to the internet.
Steps taken so far:
- Read several articles such as
https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/How_to_Connect_your_Home_Network_to_xDSL_Line
https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/How_to_configure_a_home_router
https://administrator.de/knowledge/mikrotik-vlan-konfiguration-router-os-version-6-41-367186.html - Deleted the default configuration on the router
- Started setting up a new configartion:
- with a VLAN using the “Interface” dialogue and “VLAN” tab, setting the interface to sfp1 and ID to 7 (tested 11, too)
- with a new PPPoE Client using the username and password provided by my ISP, running on the interface sfp1
- I had also set up the router’s bridge, firewall etc. in an earlier attempt, but currently that all is deleted after resetting its configuration.
The modem can establish a connection - according to its LED connector, so I guess I am only missing some settings. The PPPoE scan does not show anything and the command on the termial [admin@MikroTik] interface pppoe-client> monitor pppoe-out1 states the connection is not established.
Any help is highly appreciated? Please let me know which information is needed to narrow down on the problem.
Kind regards
