Connect Mikrotik router to wifi with only a QR code

Hi All,

Having a situation where using a Mikrotik router as a station on board a sailing vessel to connect monitoring systems is presenting with a problem. Most marinas visited shall only give out a voucher with a QR code for authentication to access the marina wifi network. Nobody gives out a password.

Has anybody found a way to get around this issue?

Maybe QR code reader app? Thing is, the QR code is just text.

Wifi QR code consists of:

WIFI:S:<SSID>;T:<WEP|WPA|nopass>;P:<PASSWORD>;H:<true|false|blank>;;

You just need an application that will read the QR code.

On Android,

Connect your phone using the QR.

Then hit the share network on your phone. It will display the SSID and password.

That’s probably vendor specific, mine doesn’t show that…
