Is any one aware of any examples or Wiki on how to establish a VPN connection between a Mikrotik box and a Netgear Prosafe VPN router?

As far as I understand, Netgear Prosafe uses IPsec:

Yes Netgear uses IPSEC however the Mikrotik documentation is useless in the situation

An IPSec tunnel is an IPSec tunnel, it is a standard. You need to look at the Netgear documentation and the MikroTik documentation and see how the have implemented the various options and features and make the necessary adjustments on both ends.
