Connect Routerboard with hotel wifi

Hello,

I have a very old Routerboard 433

If I are in a hotel or such things, i want connect it to the wifi, but most of the hotels have such login pages

To the routerboard i want connect my computer and other devices, so i have my own network in the hotel.

It this possible?

Yes. It is possible.

Okay thank you

And how?

If the hotel keeps login based on device MAC address:

  1. Change your laptop MAC address to your router MAC address
  2. Pass the login on your laptop
  3. Change the laptop MAC address back to default/original
  4. Switch on your router, fill the SSID and enjoy “own network”

Okay, thats a cool workaround.

But are there other “smarter” solutions?

SImple way is:

A. Configure WiFi interface of 433 as WAN port !!! and connect it to hotel WiFi.
B. Connect laptop to LAN port with cable or with WiFi if you have second WiFi card configured for your AP.
C. Try to connect to any Internet page.
D. “This hotel’s login page” will ask you for the login credentials and they will be assigned to MAC of WAN-WiFi interface card.
E. Hotel WiFi networks are “open” to connect but they do not let you browse internet without logging.
F. You can connect any device to your router and browse internet sitting behind your own firewall/router.

Okay that sounds really cool!

Thank you!

Have every 433 a second wifi card?

RB433 has 3 MiniPci slots for wifi cards.
