Yo dudes, im new to this, i need help setting up an a.p to a 433 hotspot.
The omni i have does not give enough signal to the rooms downstairs. i was told that if i run lmr for a distance of about 20m there will be signal loss.
what i need to know is that if i add a a.p to the second ether port of the board run it with utp, what mode does the a.p have to be in and secondly what config do i have to put on the rb?
is there anybody that knows how to do this??? ![]()
first of all, even 6m of LMR cable is too much ![]()
second - what AP do you mean? why not use the RB433 as the AP? it will be waste of RB power if you attach some other device to it, just to act as an antenna.
Problem is that the rb 433 has an omni attached to it but it does not give suffecient coverage to the back end of the Guest-house. So i want 2 attach a wireless router to the second ether port of the 433, with a 7dbi antenna to the wireless router. That should cover the back area. problem is that when i connect to the wireless router, it does not go through the hotspot login page, it goes straight to the net.
probably your hotspot was set up only on one interface
so is there any specific mode i need the wireless router to be in, btw its a tp-link wireless a.p router.
and config on the 433??
If you are connecting to the internet through the interface already, sounds like all you need to do is install another hotspot on the ether2 interface. When you do, insure the dhcp server IP address range does not interfere with the IP you assign your AP.
Thanx guys it worked, wont be having that problem anymore. ![]()
