Connecting a Draytek Vigor 2820 to Mikrotik PPPoE Server:

Just a quickie. I couldn’t get my 2820 to connect to our RB2011. I discovered that on the 2820, WAN >> General Setup section, in the “Display Name” field for WAN2 has to either blank or set to the service name of the MT router you’re connecting to. It’s not just simply a descriptive name as I thought as the router uses this as the service name and on the MT you’ll get something like:

echo: pppoe, debug, packet TEST: TEST: rcvd PADI from 00:NN:NN:NN:NN:NN
echo: pppoe,debug,packet TEST: session-id=0x0000
echo: pppoe, debug, packet TEST: service-name="WAN Display Name"
echo: pppoe,debug,packet TEST: host-uniq=0x80a8404
echo: pppoe, debug TEST: TEST: received PADI, with unsupported service, dropping

Just thought I’d post this in case it helps someone
