Connecting two 951G-2HnD with same virtual APs and Networks on both

Dear all,

some weeks ago I ordered 2 of the 951G-2HnD.
I almost spend the recent weekends with configuring them according my needs,
but I got stuck now. Hopefully someone here in this Forum has the hint that I need.

Main Goal:
Basically I want to extend the “Range” of the 3 Wifi Networks with a 2nd 951G-2HnD
but currently only the 192.168.1.0 Network is functional on the 2nd 951G-2HnD

What did I try yet:

  • made the ether4 on the 1st to master, assigned 3 VLANS on it in the switching area
  • assigned the same 3 VLANs on ether1 on the 2nd one
  • created VLAN interfaces with those VLAN IDs and assigned them to the Bridges on the 1st one
    same on the 2nd one
  • on 1st one I kept all firewall settings since it is all working properly on the 1st one connected to the DSL router and the 2 Ethernet networks including the wifi.
  • on 2nd one I created allow rules for all so that nothing should have been blocked.

DHCP is configured on the 1st one for all Networks.
The strange thing was that if a device was connected to WLAN1 everything was (and still is without the VLAN settings currently) ok, but if a device is
connected to the WLAN2 or WLAN3 just some Pings go thru and a lot of packets are lost

Please find the network map below (cabling is exactly like on the drawing).

What am I missing ? What could be wrong ? How can I configure the Routerboards to make the wifi networks work ?

Regards

John

Hello again.

28 Views and 10 days later still nobody an idea ?

Is it really that complicated / not possible with 2 Mikrotik Devices ?
Will I have to use a VLAN capeable Switch ?
