Should work as long as you turn off the www service and shift the port for winbox to port 80 (both under “/ip services”).
If I change port of winbox to 80 and disable www service (/ip services), I cant connected any more from winbox localy and not from internet. Maybe winbox search for connection only port 8291.
Does someone have success connecting from port 80 to router via winbox?
In the winbox client did you tell it to connect to 1.1.1.1:80 instead of just the IP address so the client knows you’re using a different port? I just tested that with a lab unit and it works just fine
I tested it with ip:80 but no success. I will check again, maybe some input rule is dropping anything else except port 8291 for IP of comp that I tested.
So, in that way it works, means that I have locally something that blocks it.
thank you for your help.
