Good day,
For a while now have I been having this issue with people playing mobile games being unable to connect to the game server, sometimes some pc gamers gets the same issue.
The easy way to solve the issue is to just change the clients mesh IP address,
The basic network setup looks like this.
Clients internal IP’s(192.168.0.0/24) —>CPE(10.100.1.200(NAT)) ---->My network, routed no nat—> Main gateway(NAT) -->>Internet.
Issue seems to be the client is busy with a mobile game, his power goes out. The connection is still in the connection tracking on the main gateway with a 24hr timeout.
If the client then tries to reconnect to the game it doesn’t connect.
The way I am solving this at the moment is by giving the client a public IP address and all and connecting them via EOIP to our main gateway. So the connection gets terminated once the cpe radio loses power.
Giving all the clients public ip’s is a solution but they are running out, and getting extra ips from the upstream providers is a struggle these days.
Any ways you can think of to solve this issue?
