Hi there,
I’m quite new to the dude but just stumbled upon a question I hope you could perhaps help me with.
Recently I tried the dude in a corporate network here - worked fine, discovered a bunch of devices in my subnet and draw lines in between.
Now I tried it in another network: ~400 nodes, 3x CISCO 65xx core switches, a LOT of smaller CISCO switches (also layer 3), redundant connections and so on.
The due (2.x and 3 beta
both discovered the ~400 nodes in about 10 subnets (172.16.X…) and displayed them.
BUT:there is not a single representation of the logical layout of the network: in the local network map, dude simply presents me all the devices without any connection between them. just like a huge list of devices.
There is no representation of where in the network the devices are, e.g. “behind that core switch” or “connected to access switch XY”.
It’s just one big bunch of devices.
I tried dude 2.x and 3beta8 and also played with some settings, but no effect. Any idea what I could be doing wrong?
Thanks in advace,
southy
