We have two serious problems with 5.0 rc11 and RB493G routers.

- Console is crashing after a couple hours.
We need to reboot two times the router to get console back to life.
This is a very ennoying we are using the console port as a urgency connection to client routers, through a GSM modem. If console is not working and we loose IP connectivity, then we have no other solution than driving to the client site.
2) Console port is sending informations to the modem, even if the DCD line is low (modem is in command mode).
This cause modem erratic behavior because the modem intrepret console informations as AT commands. In our case, the modem generaly go to sleep mode after a couple days. Not what we want…
We should have an option to setup Console port so that it send console informations to the modem only in data mode, when DCD modem signal is high.
I suppose that the internal RB493G serial port does not support DCD signal. But we can use a USB to serial converter, or better a mini PCI serial board. Those serial devices are supporting DCD and other EIA232 signals like RTS / CTS.
