consultation about the concept of the CCQ

i read the following subject in the forum
Quote:
(( What is CCQ and how are the values determined?

Client Connection Quality (CCQ) is a value in percent that shows how effective the bandwidth is used regarding the theoretically maximum available bandwidth. CCQ is weighted average of values Tmin/Treal, that get calculated for every transmitted frame, where Tmin is time it would take to transmit given frame at highest rate with no retries and Treal is time it took to transmit frame in real life (taking into account necessary retries it took to transmit frame and transmit rate). ))

my dear friends.. i would like to understand the relationship between the ccq value and either the downloadspeed and browsing speed
i mean if the ccq value is high ..is that mean the download and browsing speed is high also.

CCQ is specially used in wireless Ethernet like links. When a wireless link is established a certain amount of data can be send over that link. Factors that come in play are protocol, bandwidth, noise, overhead, frame size/aggregation, data rate etc.
So, a certain wireless link has a theoretical maximum amount of data that can run over that link under ideal conditions. Call it 100%
Now, if for what ever reasons some data doesn’t reach the other side of the link, or becomes corrupt, this data has to be send again. You can imagine that radio’s now have to send data again in a time that otherwise would be used to send new, next data, on the link. So the amount of useful data that is now send within a certain time frame becomes less because in fact some data is send twice.
The difference between what theoretically could be send (and received!) under optimum conditions and what is really send (and well received!) can be written in a percentage of the ideal maximum.
For instance, if the theoretical maximum to be transported data would be 100 bytes in a second but due some factors the receiver can only establish to receive in good order some 85 bytes, the ROS will show a CCQ of 85%

Now, to send data that is just part of a big stream (file download) that has not really importance in ´in-time´ delivery (because nobody cares that it take some seconds longer to get the total file downloaded due some re-sends) a high CCQ is not that important. As long as it is above some 60-70% the file still makes it, it only takes a bit longer. But real time traffic, like VOIP, is data that we just want to be delivered as soon as possible. CCQ that are falling below 90 or even 95% are now already become noticeable.
In general, and a bit in relation to the nature of the network usage, CCQ that are better (or higher) than some 80% is always something that you should try to achieve. But anyway, the higher the better!

thank you very very much and i will give you a karma
but if you just see the images down . my internet is very good/ browsing, download, you tube,massenger..etc all of them are very good.
inspite that i can give internet access account to another users with no proplems with them !!!
inspite the fact that my TX/RX CCQ is bad!!!
what is the explanation of this issue

3 possible explanations/reasons:

  • What is your reference for “very good” internet? I’ve had clients telling me everything works fine and fast and when I come to their place it is actually slow. But when they came from an old dial-up… to them it is all magic anyway!
  • You have all data rates enabled and all with good signal. So, although your CCQ shows lots of packages are have to be resent, the overall capacity of your link is such that all this extra data fits in easy without consuming the link capacity and the shown data streams in your screen dumb are not that big so the link is not (yet) really becoming a bottle neck.
  • Most of the applications you refer to either do buffering or are not very sensitive to small delays as results of package losses. For instance Youtube does buffering. It downloads the video data much faster that it needs it to show you the video. So there is room for delays and you won’t notice it at all.
Browsing; Everybody is used to that pages at times are not showing at a wimp. Most page requests and the page itself have relative little data so also here losses will not have too much of an influence (depends also a bit on the page itself. Try on-line newspapers where the actual paper is printed. Or a weather site with many (moving!) satellite cloud, temperature, rain, etc. pictures. Any page that has loads of data need to be build up. See how fast they come in. Messenger is hardly sending and receiving data, until you start using video. Try that, with live video and see what happens then..

Do a bandwidth test over the link and compare that to what you should/could be able to transport depending on ISP and clients limit and see what the result is. At the same time, run a ping over the link and see what the return time is on the link, with and without the bulk traffic stream. It tell you more about the link.

A simplified analogy:
It is sort of like sending 100 Ferrari’s over a 10 lane motorway and each has to sent an alphabetic letter to deliver a sentence on the other end. In your example half the Ferrari’s wont make it to the other end due all kinds of reasons. But you just send new Ferrari’s and they all have little delay since the motorway is far from being saturated. So the sentence can still be constructed in reasonable time on the other end.
Also, the sentence in itself contains only 100 letters and it doesn’t really bother to the guy reading it if it take 1 second or 2 seconds to read it.

But now send the text of a book. You need thousands of Ferrari’s to do that. Still, if you would loose again 50% of these down the road it means you have to halt some Ferrari’s with the next letters since first you need to send Ferrari’s with letters that didn’t make it before. Here the delays start coming in because basically half of the traffic of the already cloaked motorway is just Ferrari’s that bring data already been on the road before. And still 50% of these new ones won’t make it.
Since the building of the book already would have taken some hours if the motorway would be perfect and all cars would make it, now with all the losses it takes probably more than twice the time to do it. You’ll notice it!

thank you very much..
actually i dont understand 100/100 of your replay. but what do you say about my download speed

my greetings
god pless you
