Contents/Settings crash on dude v2.0b3

I have a new installation of Dude v2.0b3 on a WinXP SP2 system that crashes every time I click on the Settings button in the toolbar of the Contents window. Otherwise the program appears to be running fine.

Thanks.

I have the same installation and I have no crashes. At least I didnt see any crash yet since upgraded to v2.0b3…

Hmmm, I just tried again with the same results - i.e. it crashed. I also tried exporting the settings and then importing them to see if the problem would be cleared up in the process, but although there was no problem with the export/import process the crash still occurs when the Settings button in the Contents pane is pushed. Regardless, this is a very nice and very useful program.

I don’t know why and I’m certainly not complaining, but all of the sudden Dude has stopped crashing when I click on the Settings button in the Contents window. The only thing I can think of that has changed is that I installed Dude on a second system on the network including the Dude server. Since then everything’s working smoothly.

I can confirm that problem exist, some memory leaks.
Clicking settings cause 10-50 MB memory corruption per click, or smetimes constant memory usage increase untill all memory is full, then crash. In my case It have to do something with device → services → ping.
Only 3 devices, empty submap, and 2000x2000 pixels image, when no ping added, ~10MB memory corruption per click, each service-ping cause more memory corruption each click, when I add ping do each device, then it fill all memory and crash.
I have no time to do aditional checks.

Your message concerned me so I went back and checked and once again the program is crashing when I click on the Settings button in the Contents window. Your explanation about the memory leak would explain the intermittent nature of the problem. Thanks.

beta 4 - problem still exists.

I disabled 2000x2000 pixels image, and there is no problem now.

But, in other hand, clicking “setting” ~50 times will cause 10MB memory use (task manager → memory usage).

Thanks, for the reports, we fixed some memory leaks, please wait for next release.
