Hello,
Following setup:
Home: https://mikrotik.com/product/RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN (ap bridge)
Cellar: https://mikrotik.com/product/CRS109-8G-1S-2HnD-IN (station bridge)
So I simply want to have internet in the cellar too. There’s a Server PC connected.
I’m experiencing frequent interruptions of the traffic. They last 3-4 seconds and happen often, sometimes several times a minute, sometimes once every couple of minutes.
The traffic comes from the Server PC connected to the Switch.
But I also ran the Bandwidth Test in Winbox and the result is the same, so it’s definitely the wireless connection.
I tried many settings already.
Default was 2GHz-B/G/N, 20/40MHz Ce, Frequency auto.
Boosted the TX power. Set Band to N-only. Set Channel to 20MHz only. Set some fixed frequencies.
All that didn’t help.
Is it normal for 2.4GHz wireless to behave like that? Is it because my area is clogged?
What could I do to improve it?
Maybe some directional antennas could help (5GHz?)? I have no idea which ones I would need and how to set them up though, so I’d appreciate some help.
Thank you very much.
