Copy all setup from one router to another. SEXTANT G-5HPnD V6.18

Hello I’m really new to this product, and I have learn a lot over the last week, I’m in no way a professional I have never done this before.

The topic I need help with is how to take all the configuration I have done to one SEXTANT and copy it to another.
I have tried to make a Backup file from one and put into the other SEXTANT, but it does not copy all of the settings.
I have also tried to save an export file of the configuration, but this does not work either,

In bout cases it changes some settings but not all of them.

Have anyone some experience they can share regarding this topic, it would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards
Patrick

backup is for restoring on the same device, you should use “/export file=name” and “/import”

Thank you for a fast reply!
I have already tried those commands, but it there is small things that are different.

-The default wireless security profile is not exactly how I made it.

  • in the quick set menu the mode is set to “CPE” and it should be “CTP Bridge”
  • the password field in logging is blank.

everything else seems to be in order.

I am a totally beginner, so I bet there is something elementary knowledge that I’m missing here.

Hello again,
I have tried the /import /export commands.

There is just some inconsistencies:

  • The default wireless security profile is different.
  • In the Quick Set menu the router is set as an: CPE, when it should be PTP Bridge.
  • Password for log-in field is blank.

So when I see this I get really unsure if everything I need was exported?
I guess there is something simple I do not know.

Have you seen the other post I made over?
It it not work perfectly, do you have any clue to what I am doing wrong?

Right at this moment I cant really test tough since I am in Alabama on a business trip.

I can comfirm that issue. Using export command on root level does not export the whole config to get a new identical device up and running without further manual steps.

I prefer export over backup because it is humand readable and we put exports in a version control system on a daily basis and let it mail a diff to administrators.

Thank you for you’r reply.
To bad it isn’t possible, but then I know that I’m at least not doing anything wrong.

Best regards
Patrick

Which command was not exported in your case ?
