Hi guys, I only recently bothered to mess around on the antenna on the roof, upgraded from 3 to 5 and noticed the time reset. every time the power trips. the time resets.
Now I don’t know if I’m just not seeing a easier way somewhere, but this means having to manually type in the time every time.
very impressed with how advance the OS is, but even my ancient D-link router has a “Copy Your Computer’s Time Settings” button.
RouterOS can do even better. You must configure SNTP (internet time):
you can use POOL.NTP.ORG as the address for internet time
That is a whole lot better than the manual but unfortunately you need internet for that to work. My antenna is connected to http://www.ctwug.za.net. A wireless user group, so no internet on this network. So I’d still like my button please 
You prefer to connect to the device every day, just to set the time?
CTWUG probably has NTP in the local network, ask the network admin which IP to use in your NTP settings. It is most likely the same as your gateway, but ask to be sure.
not every day. just when I need to see what’s going on in the logs and need accurate dates and times. but Ok, I’ll go ask the guys for a NTP server ip. Thanks
