I have a PtP link with a -47 rssi. I need to turn the power down to get it around -65. I have read on the forum that the power settings in Mikrotik are not correct with the SR5. I have the power turned down to 8db which brings it to -57, but what are the correct values for determining the correct power setting?
Thanks
The SR5 have a power offset of 10db, so if you configure 8db it will be 18db.
Check this link for more information about it: http://www.ubnt.com/downloads/SRXR_power_offset.pdf

What about the SR9?
On auto, mine shows 26dB tx with 2.9.38.
Even running DD-WRT x86 version, it displayed up to 28dB when listing tx power.
Dunno about Madwifi in regular Linux, haven’t tried it yet.
SR9 have a power offset of 12db, see the pdf for more information.
Best regards
yes, I read that, however, using default power and then checking tx power shows 26dB.
Which is correct? Is the card trying to transmit 38dB?
