Counter

Sirs,

I have a problem with the prepaid card on user manager..

user with 1 hour credit… works half of his time.. he logged out! the counter keeps counting… knowing that the counter is cumulative! and the user should still have the other half to expire…

please advise… if i’m missing any setting!

i’m using mikrotik 3.5 or something…

thank you,

Set the Inactivity Timeout.

would you please be more specific.

i tried to find the option you mentioned in your reply.. but no luck

thank you again for your help in this matter

Regards,

/ip hotspot print

Flags: X - disabled, I - invalid, S - HTTPS
 # NAME INTERFACE ADDRESS-POOL PROFILE IDLE-TIMEOUT
 0 hotspot1 hotspot hs-pool-3 hsprof1 5m

In this case, you can see my idle time-out is 5 minutes, which is the default.

You can change yours to any value you like.
By the sound of things, your current idle-timeout is “none” which means it doesn’t time out.

Is your customer actually logging out of the hotspot (http://hotspotname/logout) ??
If not then they will never be disconnected unless you have an inactivity timeout set. This means that if the router can’t see the user for x amount of time the connection is terminated and the counters stop. If the user actually logs out properly using the command above there should be no problem.
If you are using any customised login scripts or frontend you may not still have this option, so make sure you set the inactivity timeout, very important.
