I’m based in Libya and my real ip is from Germany (Satellite Internet), but apps (mainly google) show that i’m from Iraq!
when i connect satellite modem to any basic router it shows the location of my real ip in most apps.
is there a way to make it so on MikroTik?
Google and similar apps will use your public IP to determine your location, and it’s not an exact science.
Your basic routers are probably obtaining a different IP than the Mikrotik, so Google and the sorts will again try and determine your location.
This means that the router, whether Mikrotik or a basic router, doesn’t play a role in google determining your location.
If you clone the MAC of your basic router to the Mikrotik WAN interface, then your ISP will probably give your Mikrotik the same IP as it gave your basic router because it now thinks it’s the same device. Thus, your location may now show as it does on the basic router.
Smart phones often have an option to share your GPS location with websites that ask for it. If enabled, Google may learn your location. If I change my MAC address on my Mikrotik, Google shows my location many blocks away from my house. After a week or so, when I check again, Google shows my location as exactly on my house.
Smart phones often use A-GPS which stands for assisted GPS. This means it doesn’t calculate your location locally on the device, instead it uploads the data to Google (or apple or whoever your phone is with) for calculation. This preserves battery power but at the same time, Google again can now use that information to associate GPS coordinates wtih a public IP.

Hello, maybe you are using Tooway or Hylas.
Both are UK based companies, they have many reseller in Europe.
Tooway assign Ip from few countries. They bought some IP from some countries and assign to everyone. I am in Spain but my IP is from UK (I am happy, I can watch UK programs ans subscribe to UK Netflix)…
You problem is you IP comes from the Iraq block IP and you can´t change it.
I spoke to EuropaSAT asking about IP assignation from Lybia, and they told me: Tooway (I am believing you have Tooway) doesn´t have Lybia IP in their stock.
How?
I don’t think it’s about (ip assigning)! as i said when i was connecting basic tp-link router to the satellite modem it used to show the location of the real ip in all websites and apps, but on MT it works only with few websites! IMDB for an instance.
